Atelier Refeber

The first floor of a wooden house built over 70 years ago. It was previously used as a warehouse by a sign maker, but has remained unused ever since.

The interior design preserves as much of the rugged atmosphere of the warehouse as possible, with exposed concrete floors and steel frames. Cornice lighting was also installed on the fixtures at the back of the store, adding a sense of depth and brightness to the dark space under the loft.

Through self-renovation, it has been transformed into a tasteful and timeless gallery space.

Before & After

#1 Entrance

Previously, the building was an old wooden structure with its exposed structure. The narrow, vertical space became darker and felt claustrophobic as it went deeper.

The tasteful entrance was left as it was, the walls were boldly painted white, and a "task ambient plan" was adopted, using indirect lighting throughout. The lighting is not too bright, and the necessary brightness is ensured in the necessary areas. The overall result is a bright and warm space.

#2 Cashier Area

The space at the back of the store. Taking advantage of the difference in ceiling height, we boldly placed iconic pendant lamps made from natural materials. We created an eye-catching counter space with a secluded feel.

#3 Shelf Area

This is an area where the built-in shelving fixtures are located. The damaged wooden wall behind the shelves has been repaired and hidden by the fixtures. LED cornice lighting has also been installed behind the shelves. This brightens up the previously dark loft, creating a dramatic space where the accessories and displays stand out.

#4 Side Panel Area

The damaged, dark brown wooden wall shows its age. The damaged areas have been repaired and painted white, and a graceful, curved full-length mirror has been installed. This creates a sense of spaciousness and natural spaciousness in the space under the loft, which can often feel cramped.
